Abdel Alahdal, trading as Salam Noor, is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this notice. Salam Noor is the trading name of Abdel Alahdal, a sole trader established in England and Wales. This privacy notice explains what personal data we collect, why we use it, who we share it with and the rights you have. Nothing in this notice takes away your rights under UK data protection law or your other statutory rights.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

Salam Noor ("we", "us", "our") is the trading name of Abdel Alahdal, a sole trader established in England and Wales. Abdel Alahdal trading as Salam Noor is the data controller for the personal data we hold about you.

2. What personal data we collect

We only collect the personal data we need to provide our services and run our business. Depending on how you use the site, this may include:

• Contact details — your name, email address and, where you give it, your telephone number.
• Billing and company details — your billing address and, if you buy as a business, your business name and company number.
• Order and payment records — the services you buy, invoices, amounts, payment status and the reference our payment processor returns. We do not store your full card number; card payments are handled by our payment processor.
• Site analytics — information about how you use the site, such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device and browser type. We only collect this where you have consented.

We do not intentionally collect special category data (such as health or religious data), and we ask you not to send it to us.

3. Why we use your personal data and our lawful basis

Under the UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. Our bases are:

• To provide the services you order and to deal with you — for example creating your account, delivering the work, sending invoices and providing support. Lawful basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
• To keep proper business, accounting and tax records — including issuing invoices and keeping the records HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) requires. Lawful basis: compliance with a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
• To run, secure and improve the site, to prevent fraud and to answer your enquiries — Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in operating a safe and effective business, balanced against your rights (Article 6(1)(f)).
• To measure how the site is used through analytics, and to send you marketing where you ask us to — Lawful basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Who we share your personal data with

We share personal data only with organisations that help us run our business, and only as far as they need it. These are:

• Our payment processor — to take and reconcile payments.
• Our email delivery provider — to send transactional emails such as receipts and service updates.
• Our hosting provider — which stores the data that runs the site on our behalf.
• HM Revenue & Customs and other authorities — where the law requires us to.
• Our professional advisers — such as our accountant or a solicitor, where we need advice or must protect our legal position.

Each supplier that processes personal data for us does so under a contract that requires it to keep the data secure and use it only on our instructions.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

5. International transfers

We aim to keep your personal data in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area (EEA). Some of our suppliers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure the transfer is protected by one of the safeguards allowed under UK data protection law — either the country has UK "adequacy" status, or the transfer is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (or the standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum). You can ask us for details of the safeguard that applies.

6. How long we keep your personal data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it. In particular:

• We keep records relating to orders, invoices and payments for at least six years after the end of the relevant tax year, because HMRC requires business and accounting records to be kept for around six years.
• We keep other contact and account data for as long as you have a relationship with us, and then delete or anonymise it.

When we no longer need personal data, we securely delete it or make it anonymous.

7. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification — ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your data where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data while a concern is resolved.
• Portability — ask us to provide certain data to you or another provider in a portable format.
• Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and object to direct marketing at any time.
• Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent, withdraw it at any time (this does not affect processing already carried out).

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within one month, and we do not charge for a normal request. We may need to confirm your identity first.

8. Your right to complain to the ICO

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator:

9. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time — for example if we change the services we offer or the suppliers we use. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and where the change is significant we will bring it to your attention. Please check this page from time to time.
